When the weather is fine

Only those living in the nether regions of the Sahara and perhaps Swindon, are unaware of Canada’s world beating winter recreational opportunities, they are truly unparalleled. However, people are less aware of how amazing a summer trip to Canada can be.

With such large areas of wilderness available all over the joint, the quality of hiking, mountain biking, white-water rafting, and many more activities are very high. Within resorts there are hundreds of trails to choose from whether it is to hike out in to the hills or steam down a hillside on a bike. The rugged landscape provides a breathtaking backdrop to whatever you’re up to.

People generally associate Canada with very low temperatures and lots of snow, this much maybe true for the winter months but the summer months are very mild. Temperatures can soar as high as 30C and sunny days are aplenty within June, July and August. These temperatures mean that a wide variety of activities are possible to the highest of standards

Surfing

Surfing in CanadaSurfing within Canada is beginning to build momentum with good conditions available particularly on Vancouver Island. Tofino is known as Canada’s capital of surfing and is located on the Pacific side of Vancouver Island with loads of spots around the area and Long Beach is the areas signature destination. If you’re heading out to surf in Canada just remember to pack your wetsuit!

Mountain Biking

Summer mountain biking

Within the larger resorts like Whistler, along with the hundreds of trails, monstrous mountain bike parks for all abilities are attracting huge numbers of people meaning the winter and summer populations are now almost identical. The steep terrain in the alpine areas of Canada provide excellent conditions for downhill riding with some ski resorts like Fernie operating their chairlifts so you can get your bike to the top with very little hassle. Centres such as Bromont and Mont-Sainte-Anne in Quebec have recently held World Cup and World Championship races with regular competitions occurring right across Canada.

Kayaking/Canoeing/White-Water Rafting

Spending some time on the water ways of Canada is an excellent alternative method of seeing the countries stunning landscape. Various paced adventures are available from drifting along taking in the scenery and the wildlife to thrill seeking white water trips.
